The Center for Mountain Ecology (CEM) is a non-profit ecological foundation specialised in the protection of mountain and alpine ecology.
In the "Carpathian Gate" ecotourism destination, more precisely in Fundata, Moieciu and Bran, there is the area where CEM works and engages in various projects and activities together with other partners.
The Center for Mountain Ecology is a foundation that since its establishment in 1998 in the village of Moieciu de Sus has been active in the region and has drawn specialists from various fields to carry out studies and researches in the area of Geosciences, Biology, Culture and Architecture.
Since its inception, CEM has advocated and proposed sustainable local development through ecotourism and opposed to the urban-industrial tourism development in the region, drawing attention to the dangers related to such development in the mountain region of Bran-Moieciu-Fundata on authentic mountain culture .
