TAMTAM Brasov Association was founded in 2019 with the aim of reviving the cultural landscape of Brasov. Through its projects, the association has brought to Brasov's stages sound names such as Byron, Luiza Zan, Jazzy Jo, Barbarossa Samba Band, Kamerata Kronstadt, Irina Sârbu, Daniel Harding, has put the first rock opera together with Filarmonica Moldova from Iasi (The One Born From A Tear) on multiple outdoor stages in Brasov and has given back to the cultural events circuit spaces such as Galeria Kronstadt, Richter Square or Brassai Square (the association organized the first event in 2020 in this space). At the same time, in 2020, TAMTAM Brasov Association organized the only large-scale festival on the arena of the National College Andrei Saguna in Brasov being also the first festival in the world to obtain a "Covid-Safe" certification from a safety certification company - DEKRA. Currently, the association operates as a non-profit organization and aims to bring to the public of Brasov events of the highest level, collaborating with renowned partners from the country and abroad. Thus, the TAMTAM Brasov Association is currently collaborating with the impresario agency Aegeria Artists Management, with the cultural association Ton der Jugend, both from Vienna, with the orchestras of the philharmonics of Iasi, Brasov, with Kamerata Kronstadt and others. The activity with which the TAMTAM Brasov Association started was the organization of TAMTAM Festival 2019, 2020 and 2021. The association also initiated a season of events (music, theatre, dance, film and visual arts) which started in 2020 being interrupted by the pandemic. As an alternative, the association built the first virtual stage to appear in the country during the pandemic - tamtam.live - through which it organised weekly online performances between March and June 2020. The 2021 edition of TAMTAM Festival brought to the public more than 70 events and 250 artists and inaugurated a new cultural space in Brasov - HUB 2068. Among the activities of the TAMTAM Brasov Association is the search for new talents or up-and-coming artists who are then promoted in the association's media, on the festival's pages, website or other social media channels. Thus, since 2021, in collaboration with BRD Group Societe Generale, TAMTAM Festival has launched Scena Viitorul, a project that continues in 2022 and brings some of Romania's most talented young artists on stage.

We invite you to the 12th edition of the Haferland Week festival, the largest event in Romania dedicated to promoting the culture and traditions of the Transylvanian Saxon community, which will take place from 8 to 11 August in ten locations in the region historically known as Haferland (Oat Country): Archita, Saschiz, Homorod, Rupea, Criț, Roadeș, Meșendorf, Cloașterf, Bunești and Viscri. The theme chosen for this issue is “History, tradition and culture. Yesterday and today in the Haferland” and reflects an anniversary of great importance for the history of the Transylvanian Saxons: the 700th anniversary of the first documentary mention of Rupea Fortress, one of the most beautiful and largest medieval fortifications in Transylvania, which will take place on Sunday, 11 August 2024 in Rupea itself. This year’s festival is expected to attract around 10,000 visitors from Romania, but also from countries such as Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, and the United States. We have prepared a series of special events for guests of all ages so that all participants will feel part of the Saxon community during the four days of the festival – with visits to fortified churches and traditional Saxon farms, concerts and traditional Saxon music dances, organ concerts, folk dance performances, film screenings, public lectures, exhibitions of traditional crafts and costumes, workshops for children and adults, guided tours, visits to farms and homes, organic food tastings and much more. Admission to all festival events is free. About Haferland Week The Haferland Week Festival was initiated in 2012 by the M&V Schmidt Foundation, together with the Tabaluga Foundation // Peter Maffay Stiftung, an organization founded by the Romanian-born German musician Peter Maffay. The general objective of the event is to promote the culture and traditions of the Transylvanian Saxons and to develop tourism in the Haferland region. Cultural project co-financed by the Ministry Of Culture, financed by the Brasov County Council,  whom we thank, as two of the main partners of the Haferland Week cultural festival.   Media Partner: KISS FM   Please find more details regarding the schedule here: https://haferland.ro/en/haferland-week-2024/
