About
TAMTAM Brasov Association was founded in 2019 with the aim of reviving the cultural landscape of Brasov. Through its projects, the association has brought to Brasov's stages sound names such as Byron, Luiza Zan, Jazzy Jo, Barbarossa Samba Band, Kamerata Kronstadt, Irina Sârbu, Daniel Harding, has put the first rock opera together with Filarmonica Moldova from Iasi (The One Born From A Tear) on multiple outdoor stages in Brasov and has given back to the cultural events circuit spaces such as Galeria Kronstadt, Richter Square or Brassai Square (the association organized the first event in 2020 in this space). At the same time, in 2020, TAMTAM Brasov Association organized the only large-scale festival on the arena of the National College Andrei Saguna in Brasov being also the first festival in the world to obtain a "Covid-Safe" certification from a safety certification company - DEKRA.
Currently, the association operates as a non-profit organization and aims to bring to the public of Brasov events of the highest level, collaborating with renowned partners from the country and abroad. Thus, the TAMTAM Brasov Association is currently collaborating with the impresario agency Aegeria Artists Management, with the cultural association Ton der Jugend, both from Vienna, with the orchestras of the philharmonics of Iasi, Brasov, with Kamerata Kronstadt and others.
The activity with which the TAMTAM Brasov Association started was the organization of TAMTAM Festival 2019, 2020 and 2021. The association also initiated a season of events (music, theatre, dance, film and visual arts) which started in 2020 being interrupted by the pandemic. As an alternative, the association built the first virtual stage to appear in the country during the pandemic - tamtam.live - through which it organised weekly online performances between March and June 2020.
The 2021 edition of TAMTAM Festival brought to the public more than 70 events and 250 artists and inaugurated a new cultural space in Brasov - HUB 2068.
Among the activities of the TAMTAM Brasov Association is the search for new talents or up-and-coming artists who are then promoted in the association's media, on the festival's pages, website or other social media channels. Thus, since 2021, in collaboration with BRD Group Societe Generale, TAMTAM Festival has launched Scena Viitorul, a project that continues in 2022 and brings some of Romania's most talented young artists on stage.
