About
The Logic 64 Brasov Sports Club Association is an O.N.G .(non-profit organization) that was founded in 2010 from the desire of the two chess coaches- husband and wife, both former performance athletes - to create an organized framework for all chess enthusiasts in Brasov County and in the country, regardless of age, to promote the educational valences of chess, to popularize and develop its practice as a sporting, creative and personal development element, in a spirit of harmony and fair play, considering also that chess can contribute positively to children's cognitive-emotional development and training.
The two coaches, Claudia Sofronie - former world vice-champion in junior classic chess (USA 1990) and multiple European vice-champion in juniors (1992 and 1993), master of the International Chess Federation, certified referee - and International Master Iulian Sofronie, former national champion in classic chess seniors and fresh bronze medalist at the National Championships of Romania at the Blitz (December 12, 2021 Poiana Brasov), certified referee, organizes within the club, for 12 years, chess courses for juniors, chess tournaments for juniors and seniors, camps, training stages and other chess events.
Logic 64 Sports Club Brasov, a performance chess club, holds a sports identity certificate (from the Ministry of Sports) and is affiliated to the Romanian Chess Federation since 2010. Both coaches are also certified referees and are graduates of the National School of Coaches (class of 2004).
