Recent, complexul Sportiv de la Cheile Grădiștei Fundata a devenit un punct de atracție și pentru cicliștii profesioniști, grație traseului de XCO amenajat aici cu ocazia primului Campionat European de ciclism organizat în România, între 8 și 12 mai. Ce înseamnă acest eveniment pentru ciclismul din România, pentru județul Brașov și pentru turismul din România? Azimont Mountain Association aims to promote a wide range of mountain activities, while contributing to the protection of the environment and the growth of the tourist potential of the mountain areas in Romania.  Among the objectives of the association:  • promoting hiking and other forms of mountain activities  • Periodic organization of excursions and mountain camps, mountain biking, tours alpine skiing and hiking  • Introduction to mountaineering, skiing and mountain tourism through the establishment of an Alpine School  (Azimont Mountain School)  • promoting measures to prevent mountain accidents (first aid)  • greening and mountain education actions  • marking and marking tourist trails

Daily guided tours with our CUBE mountain bikes In this tour, we connect by bicycle one of the most important touristic points from the area, like Bran Castle with Râșnov fortress, or Bear Sanctuary with Vulcan village. These tours are available for groups of friends, or for families who are used to pedal and want to discover by bicycle the charming area of Zărnești, Bran, and Râșnov. *Version A - a departure from our „Rent a Bike” center Zărnești-Bear’s Sanctuary (optional)-Vulcan-Poiana Mărului- Zărnești Transfer by car for 15 minutes. The tour starts from Bear’s Sanctuary with an optional visit here. We’ll continue to pedal on green single tracks through oak forests, mostly down. Before riding down to Vulcan village is a lake, the perfect place to have a snack. Is time to admire the view with Bucegi and Postavaru mountains in front and colorful scattered houses on rolling hills. From Vulcan, we’ll pedal up on a remote asphalted road until Holbav village. We’ll pedal mostly down on a valley where the locals are working their lands. We’ll come back to Zărnești on an asphalted road along the river. Technical details: 38 km with 470m+ *Version B - a departure from our „Rent a Bike” center Zărnești -  Rasnov fortress - Bran Castle – Zărnești Transfer by car from Zărnești to Râșnov fortress. A visit here is possible. We’ll cross by bicycle Râșnov village and follow along the remote road on a valley for half-hour. We’ll enter the forest and ride up on a dirt road admiring the impressive views of Sohodol mountain village and part of Branului country. The downhill to Bran castle is the highlight of the day. A visit here is possible. The last part of the tour is on a flowing asphalted road that connects Bran with Zarnesti, through two small traditional villages. Technical details: 20 km with 300m+ , or 30 km with 550m+ 2. Daily guided trekking tours - a departure from our „Rent a Bike” center You have the opportunity to discover places which are not so known and not crowded at all. Places with views like postcards and where you’ll find tranquility and peace. Our local guides we’ll lead you on a hilly ridge, a remote area where few locals decided to don’t leave their lands for better and easier living conditions. They are still working their fields with horses and with their own hands in order to keep traditions and minimalist life. This way we can continue our work to protect large carnivores and their natural habitats through ecotourism. What do we have to offer? Since 2008 we are able to give you a fair chance at seeing Eurasian lynx and brown bears in the wild, as we started working with wildlife researchers from Brasov area. These activities do not harm the animals and do not put you at risk, as the researchers know the best way to approach the animals and the watching is done at a safe distance. We also work with experts in birds, both in the Transylvanian Carpathians and the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve.

Whether you are interested in the wildlife of Romania, myths and legends related to it, traditional Transylvanian lifestyle, there’s a very simple way to get a first-hand experience: from people that grew up with all that. You can choose one of our tours, day-walks or activities focused on: Bear, wolf tracking and watching The Carpathian Mountains of Transylvania (Romania) are home to impressive numbers of wolves, bears, lynx and other wildlife. Even more impressive, this is in close coexistence with traditional farming activities-something that didn’t really happen in any other parts of Europe. Seeing wild animals in their natural environment is always a challenge ; finding tracks or other signs of them is the very first step to understand the world they live in and their life. We will go looking for these wild animals away from any tourist areas, following shepherds or foresters’ trails, deep into the forest. We can arrange bear-watching from one of the hides owned by Forestry Commission; about 80 % chances to see bears as well as other wildlife (wild boar, Lesser spotted Eagle, Ural Owl); we had sightings of wolves and lynx as well, although they’re rather exceptional. Far from the urban agglomeration, in the complete silence of the forest, tourists have the chance to listen to nature, the noises of wild animals and even to safely follow the dangerous ones from specially arranged shelters. The forests of Piatra Craiului are the ideal habitat of large carnivores, bears, wolves, lynx, deer and deer, and the rocky areas of the black goat. The rich ornithofauna, represented by 111 species identified in the area of ​​the Piatra Craiului National Park, is an ideal resource for bird watching lovers.
