For those who want to get from the center of Rasnov to the Citadel, the fastest access route is the fenicular elevator. It was an project idea born in Râşnov in 2005, and in April 2015 the project was completed and the reception of the work was carried out. The first rounds of the elevator for the public took place on July 3, 2015, when the Days of Râşnov started.The embarkation station is behind the Rasnov House of Culture, and those who choose to reach Cetate using this transport facility can also enjoy the surroundings of the city from the Belvedere platform set up at the station next to Cetate. The lift route has a total length of 165 meters, with a difference of 85 meters and the angle of inclination is 37 degrees. The trip takes about two minutes, the cab speed is 2.5 meters per second.Such installations in the world are still in Salzburg, Austria, Porto and Zagreb, Croatia. The rhinestone lift can carry 648 people a day, with the maximum cabin capacity of 18 people. Energy consumption is low, bearing in mind that it has a counterweight, and at the same time it is also an environmentally friendly means of transport.In hard-to-reach areas, concrete pillars were installed by helicopter and 2,000 cubic meters of rock were manually cracked for the route.
