Conducting Masterclass with Uroš Lajovic at the Philharmonic of Brasov

The conducting workshop organized by the Brasov Philharmonic in partnership with "Platform for Culture" Croatia invites young conductors from all over the world to come and work with one of the most renowned conducting teachers in the world - Uroš Lajovic, professor at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna from 1991 to 2012. In the framework of the project, the selected conductors will have the opportunity to come to Brasov to conduct the orchestra of the Brasov Philharmonic for five days, with Uroš Lajovic as their teacher. The workshop will end with a concert with the Brasov Philharmonic where all 10 candidates will have the opportunity to conduct part of the concert repertoire. The five days will be filmed by a professional film crew and materials will be produced to present the workshop, the Brasov Philharmonic and the candidates with Maestro Lajovic. The materials will serve several purposes: educational - for the musicians and the public (who can understand the phenomenon of rehearsals and the importance of the conductor), disseminating the educational-cultural message of the institution and the musicians and will give a chance to some of the best young conductors in the world to perform artistically with a professional orchestra. In this way, the work of the Brasov Philharmonic will be seen on channels watched by thousands of people around the world. At the same time, the materials will be used for educational purposes and will define a model of best practice in a musical institution through which the education of musicians and audiences can be followed by anyone in the world.
